Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial title for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a torrid year, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first title after the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt from that period of that year.
The win also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children at once, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six finals, including in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and regular reactions on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his ability to play at the highest level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to approach the net and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serve.
The champion came back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players swapped breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour title, took control to create a third set.
He saved four initial break points in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
